5'8 guard Jasmine Robinson will be 3 1/2 hours down the road in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. 6'0 wing Shae Nelson will be 45 Minutes away in Oxford and 6'3 post Jenisha Jackson will be 2 hours away in Starksville. 3young ladies that have worked hard all Summer commit to their Universities of Choice. The University of Alabama, Ole Miss and Mississippi State are all grateful to receive 3 outstanding players that will blossom their programs. The fourth that only played half of July Carnecia Williams committed to Mississippi State University as well. Williams also played for Team Memphis Elite's 16U National Championship Team. Desiree Phillips signs with Missouri State another Lady Bobcat goes D1. This is a Milestone for the Lady Bobcats Summer Basketball Program. A sign of success for a great program.

Overton and Central compete with Nation Competition with Intensity.
Memphis Overton and Memphis Central Both Split 1-1 with their opponents in the 2009 1st annual Turkey Jam Classic. Friday Night Overton would fall to the Nation's #6 rated team Potters House Academy 58-52. Both Overton's Senior and Alabama Signee Jasmine Robinson and Potters House's Sophomore Antoinette Banister would finish the night with 13 points each. Key offensive rebounds and missed free throws would haunt Overton late in the game that would contribute to their loss Friday Night. Also Friday Central's Lady Warriors would fall to the #19 rated team in the country Riverdale Baptist.
Saturday would be a 360 turnaround for both teams Jasmine Robinson would only 1 point in the first half on the flip side of teams. Saturday Overton would play Riverdale Baptist and Robinson battling with the flu would rally for 17 second half points and bring the Lady Wolverines to an upsetting defeat over Riverdale Baptist 48-42. Following that Game #6 Potters House Christian Academy would match up with the Lady Warriors of Central the #9 rated team in the Country according to ESPN's Hoopgurlz. Can anyone say "CAT FIGHT". Freshman Nina Davis and Sophomore Alyiah Whiteside would play an outstanding game. Davis would drop in 27 and Whiteside would muscle up 21, which 3 would come from a dynamic 3 pointer with 25 ticks remaining in the game and Central would win 71-70 in a hard fought battle.

"JAPAN OR BUST"

Jasmine
Robinson is going to Japan. Late Wednesday Afternoon
Lady Bobcats Director Rod Echols recieved a phone call from adidas
officials. It was breaking the news to him that one of his players
will be representing the United States in August in Japan.
Robinson the #28 Player in the Country and the #9 Combo Guard according
to ESPN
(See Details) has done quite a job representing Memphis and adidas in 2008.
2009 will be promising for her aswell. When
the news was relayed to Robinson, she was excited to know she is one of
twelve young ladies to be on the Adidas Candace Parker Aces Global
Travel Team. The Aces will depart Los Angeles August 9th to
Tokyo and return to the United States on August 18, 2009. Another
Bobcat is listed as an alternate for the Aces. First year
participant Shae Nelson who is committed to Ole Miss will serve as an
honorable mentioned. Nelson displayed a great
exhibition in Atlanta. The 6'0 Player put on a shooting clinic in
games at the Southern Premier Hoops Spring Classic. Robinson is
still undecided of her collegiate career but have major offers on the
table. Congrats to these young Ladies.

Not King James but Queen James
in the Year to Come. Brandi James was amongst the top
2011 players that were
featured
in the adidas Southern Premier Hoops Classic that was hosted in Atlanta, Ga. April 17-19. James of the
Memphis Lady Bobcats Elite 17U team. She started 4 of the 5 games
for the Lady Bobcats. She played
exceptionally well. James a Point Guard led the Lady bcats in the
back court with her hard defense and shooting. Brandi James, "B.J"
her teammates call her will definitely be in the top rankings this
Summer on the Circuit. We look to see Brandi in the Adidas Skills
Academy this Summer in Bloomington, Indiana at the opening of the
Hoosier Nation Hardwood Championship. Coach Fred Echols thinks
Brandi is one of the most promising players of 2011. James attends Fairley High School in
Memphis, Tennessee.
Clayborn - Pratcher - Burgess - Taylor represented 16AAA in the 2009 All-Star Classic
Memphis
All-Star Game was action packed and exciting.
The Game was an all exciting extravaganza.
Erica Burgess and Adrienne Pratcher would be all-star icons, but
Pratcher would steal the show early with a shooting exhibition dropping
the first five 3 pointers. The Texas A & M signee would finish the
game with 37 points for the North Team. Burgess of the South Team
would gather some ooohs and aaahs from the crowd. Lawanda Clayborn
would lead the South with 25 points with
her fast pace style and high jumping ability. She would walk away this
year as the 2008-2009 All-Star MVP. Clayborn just a few weeks ago
gave a verbal to Arkansas State and will play with Central's stand
out Jasmine Taylor. Taylor also had an outstanding game in the
All-Star Classic. Taylor would go ahead and win the All-Star
3 Point Shoot-Out. The Game would be an exciting event for the
fans as the North Team would lead the whole game. The South would
go on a 2 minute rally as Monique Ingram of BTW would hit a clutch 3
pointer to tie the game with 44 Seconds remaining in the contest.
The South would then put the ball in Burgess hand, a Southeast Louisiana
commit and she would seal the game with 2 free throws with 2.5 seconds
remaining on the clock. The south would win 76-74.
